Pulau Perhentian

Situated at the South China Sea about 16miles nautical off the Terengganu coastline, Perhentian Island and it's neighboring islands were officially declared a marine park in 1991. Perhentian by itself mean the 'stopping point' and consisting of 2 islands- perhentian besar(big island) and perhentian kecil(small island). The seas around these islands have a fascinating variety of marine life and are excellent for underwater exploration and photography. These twin islands also fringed by coral and provide superb underwater seascapes for snorkelling and scuba diving. Covered by virgin jungle, wind swept palms, powdery white beaches and surrounded by sapphire blue waters, these islands are a sanctuary to fishermen, migratory birds and holidaymakers.
